The pART of Pontypridd Art Trail is an annual exhibition by the latest graduates from the BA(Hons) Creative and Therapeutic Arts course at the University of South Wales, Treforest Campus, in partnership with local organisations, initiatives, businesses, venues and sites in Pontypridd.

The Art Trail is an opportunity to honour and celebrate the wonderful place and people of Pontypridd who directly inspire the artwork created. The exhibition will not only showcases our work, but actively encourages participation with the public.

Accessibility and inclusivity are at the heart of our practice, so expect a diverse range of artworks including street art, textiles, painting and photography, to soundscapes, zines and creative wellbeing packages as well as much more!

For my contribution to the Art Trail, I am hosting art workshops on Zoom with people who work in, or access, support services across Pontypridd.

In these one-to-one sessions I will guide the participant through two activities that aim to boost well being and a sense of empowerment. The participants will create a piece of artwork that represents a part of Pontypridd that they love, or have happy memories of, and then they will impart some words of wisdom to the viewing public.

I will use this time together as inspiration for the paintings I create - responding to the stories shared and incorporating the words of the participant across the middle of the piece.

My creations will then be displayed as my graduate art show around Pontypridd.

If you are local to Pontypridd and wish to take part, contact me using my contact form.  Places are limited, so not all who apply will be able to participate.
