An installation piece incorporating sound, warmth and layers of fabric to represent rebirth from a giant womb

This piece was just over 1m square at the bottom and around 2m tall. To get inside you had to pull apart strips of material and climb in. Once inside the floor is made of pillows and a duvet dyed pink using avocado pits. A heated blanket keeps the space warm, and covered lights run around the inside. Affirmations hang around the walls, as does a giant macrame wall hanging. A small speaker plays the sound of a heartbeat made to sound like you're hearing it from inside a body.

The entire installation was created to be enveloping - and once experienced, you step back outside into the world again, refreshed and rejuvenated from your time inside Recuperation.

This installation was exhibited in December 2019 in D20 within USW.
